This Web Design – HTML and CSS course will teach you to plan, build and maintain your own powerful and responsive websites. This is a hands-on course, where you will learn to code HTML and CSS files from scratch.
In HTML5 you’ll learn how to create and use basic tags, create hyperlinks, place images and use tables. We’ll cover everything from the fundamentals of web design concepts to structure and accessibility.
In CSS3 you’ll have complete control of page layout but also more complex aspects including floating, positioning, rounded corners and other cutting-edge techniques. Finally, we will show you how to work ‘live’ on your project and how to upload your site. Please bring your own website ideas to work on. Please note this course is taught on a Mac computer.
Web Design principals – font, colour, image size and website sizes, creating site maps
Designing the first pages of your website
Creating your first HTML page including text, images, internal and external links
Cascading Style Sheets
Navigation bars with roll over effects
CSS coding – drop down menu and creating image galleries
Uploading your website
You’ll leave with HTML and CSS skills and have the confidence to build a website from scratch; not only designing, creating and managing it, but manipulating and altering its appearance.
Who Should Attend
Anyone who wants to learn how to create and manage a professional website using basic and intermediate HTML and CSS. You will need basic computer skills. Due to the intense nature of this course, you should commit to attend every session. No prior knowledge of web design, HTML or CSS is required for this short course.
