A Look Back Through Time
NLab Innovation Academy started as an incubation space for young people who had ideas. The space became open for very young entrepreneurs (VYE), Innovators and people with ideas.
The first Class of 35 students who joined “OUFLab program” attended the first session, where our founder Wilhelm Caspar Oddo shared with them his dream of working with university students, teaching them Computer Coding For free. The session was done at Kampala International University - Dar es salaam.
Early 2012, All the sessions were were shifted from KIU's classes to our founders seating room which was located at Mzambarauni, Gongo La Mboto.
Indiegogo Campaign (Fundraising), Changes of name
On July 2nd, 2013 OUFLab name was changed to NiwezesheLab (NLab). Also from May to August 17, 2013 OUFLab with a big help from a friend (Zoe) managed to raise $3,070 through Indiegogo website which is an online crowdfunding site. The money was used to buy 15 Computers, 1 White Board, 2 Extension Cables, 1 Projector, 4 UPS (uninterruptible power supply), 1 Printer, 3 Tables and 20 Chairs.

NiwezesheLab together with its sister Organization / Partner (Apps and Girls) expanded their wings to 15 Primary and Secondary Schools in Dar es salaam - Tanzania.
Bringing smiles to others
Our founder was among the young leaders in the world who was invited to the one young world SUMMIT in Bangkok - Thailand, later he was featured on their report and post, where the article was titled "The young leaders bringing a smile to the unhappiest countries on earth"
Rome wasn't built in a day
The 7th of May, 2016 is one among the dates we remember. For the first time NLab is far from our founder's house. It is the beginning of the long journey to where we are today. It shifted from Njia panda ya Segerea "Kwa Kimicho" to Majumba Sita - Posta near the airport.
NIA's Official registration
July 2017, NLab Innovation Academy Got registered at Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) as a private company and On December 4th, 2017 NLab Innovation Academy was one of the 140 EduTech Companies which were shortlisted among the 1042 nominees for the Reimagine Education Awards.
The big shift
On May 26, 2018 NLab Innovation Academy shifted from Majumba Sita - Posta (Near Julius Nyerere International Airport) to Kinondoni, Mafere Street.
On 3rd of November 2018, NIA was nominated on African Youth SDGs Achievers Award and on 11 of November, 2018 NIA was awarded an award for African Youth SDGs Achievers Awards 2018, in Accra Ghana.
Registration by NACTE
18th of January, 2019 NLab Innovation Academy (NIA) earned accreditation from the National Council For Technical Education (NACTE) in The United Republic of Tanzania.
And on 10th of April, 2019 NIA started its first intake "March Intake" as a College which offers Certificate and Diploma in Information Technology with only 15 registered students and Wilhelm Caspar Oddo was appointed as the first principal of NLab Innovation Academy.
